Following complaints from local residents Councillor Rust successfully moved a motion at Council which sought greater flexibility in terms of garden waste registration.
Jason said, "If we genuinely wish to encourage recycling then the current policy requires to be review and made more consumer friendly. It is concerning if a few additional registrations will destabilise the entire collection system. I have seen a number of situations whether through long-term hospitalisation, lengthy executry processes, bereavement or other family pressures that registration has not been possible.
"It is frustrating for residents especially when the collection lorry drives past and is often just another challenge at an already difficult time. I hope the situation can be practically improved going ahead."
